Photo First Try

Trying to get the hang of this. The photo I am trying to show was taken on an Olympus C3030-Z this past July while in Key West, FL to attend the Hemingway Look Alike contest. Hope this works.

One more time. Well, there is good news and there is bad news.
The good news is it works. The bad news is it comes up full format (sorry about that), so I need to do some resizing. HOWEVER, look at the detail this camera captured. I think it's simply amazing.

I have used another program for editing the photo as I couldn't adjust and resize before.

The big pic is nice with good detail but I couldn't see the reduced picture.
Tried a quick resize ... it seems pretty good too ... way to go!

Later ... Gord.

I too have a 3030 and love it. I bought a macro lens for it and got a closeup of a 3in ant. I hand held the camera over a huge anthill so it is a bit blury so I didn't post it. Dang ants were crawling all over me so I had a hard time holding the camera still. It is a heck of a camera!! Small too

I'm lookin' for another digital. About how much is the 3030 going for these days? Thanks,
Jerry

I bought it from a local shop and it was a thousand bucks. You can get them cheaper on the net though. Mary bought me the macro for my B'day. I have a 16 and 2 -64 meg chips which will do a lot of pics unless I take them full resolution. Wish I had it on my vacation. ;(

Just got my hands on a new E10. What a piece of work. Dream on, dream on.
Got that Santa????

I just read where someone is comming out with a 50 meg camera!!! Think that is a little more than most of us need! <IMG SRC="/forums/images/wink.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=";)">

Was even looking on EBAY tonight for that one. Almost took one too... $670.00 for an 8 month old one...
Thanks for the info... Guvner..

If you go to the link I provided (above) you will find an entire section on the E10 made up of people who actually have one and use it. The early models probably had some quirks the newer models have corrected.
Well, it's the nature of marketing to put some pre-production stuff out to the consumer to get feedback; i.e. a high cost focus group. Somewhere between the pre-production and production changes and enhancements are made. In this case I think there were some software/hardware issues. But, it can't take away from the fact this is an awsome camera.
Today, I take my Minolta-XTSI with its 28-200 zoom, and computer flash to Pete's here is Cincinnati to sell. Then plop down the difference and sometime in January...... hello E10.

Luckily enough it is Christmas and I have kids so doubt I will be doing too much early shopping for me... I will be awaiting how you are progressing once you get yours. Please pass on any good deals you find on this camera as you encounter them... I will do the same if you'd like...
Good picture taking... Guvner..
