I got in a couple of hours yesterday.... there was no wind and it was hell hot out there. I was mostly picking up clad then got a high tone that was very shallow. Popped out the Monroe dollar. At first i thought it was one of those brass president token ive found before. Then flipped it over and there was Liberty and $1... didnt see the date, man they put that on the side it wont last long there if they circulate much. Got closer to a creek with about 6 inches of fill dirt, most was creek gravel but i could tell there was deep iron and trash down there. Picked up a couple of wheats... in the 40's then got a good hit. Dug down about 6 or so inches and it looked like a large copper coin, but turned out to be a Palmolive Soap token the second one ive found in the last month or so. Then i got a BIG deep hit.... raised the coil and it kind of disappeared. Dug down about 6 inches and the signal was weak in all the creek gravel with the probe so i still thought i might be dealing with a can even thou it read 00 28 instead of 03 like some cans will read in digital. Another couple of inches and i could hear it great.... the next CAREFUL dig and out popped the Barber half ... 1906D. Hot or not ... one great hunt.
