PI air test Surf PI Pro vs Aquasearch V2

The only reason I was doing air tests today is that I've been sick as a dog and unable to get to the beach to run the new Aquasearch PI. I thought I would see how the 2 machines measure up doing some simple air tests with different items. First I used a good size 1oz. platinum band that I found a couple months ago. The Surf PI at max sensitivity had audible signal @ 12" but the threshold is very jumpy at that setting. The Aquasearch at max sensitivity was clearly audible @ 16" with the threshold nice and smooth. I tried a smaller 18k gold band and the Surf PI hit it @10".....the Aquasearch @14". Now I know air testing is not totally accurate but I did get a repeatable 4" difference with a smooth as glass threshold on the Aquasearch. That's a big difference in my book. Anyway....I figured some of you may be interested in the test. I'll keep you posted on my finds over the next couple of weeks with the new PI unit.
Thanks again Mr. Bill and Eric. This unit is a real winner.

Mike,
They are exactly the same as my beach depth tests against my GQSS and a modified Surfmaster PI.
The depth advantage across all <FONT COLOR="#ff0000">GOLD</FONT> targets was no less than 30% <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
