PI Coil

I would love to see XP come out with a Pulse Induction coil for the Deus. With this technology it should be easy to do.

Now that would be something. Unfortunately there is more to PI units than just the coil. They would have to add some other filters and tech to the existing controls. However, I see where you're coming from. With the Deus, the coil is pretty much everything, so it probably wouldn't be very hard to build a PI type coil. Interesting idea for sure. Add it to the proposed idea thread!

It would open the Deus up to surf and gold field hunting. With its lightweight and programmability, it would make it a backpacking machine with a purpose. Just dreaming.

design a new control head and charge us a couple of hundred bucks or come out with a different head so we can switch on the same unit?

A software upgrade should take care of the control functions. The coil itself will contain the necessary hardware and will have to be a new product. PI machines range from dirt simple, such as the Fisher Impulse (no longer made) with volume control and tuning control only, to extremely complex such as the Garrett ATX or the Whites TDI Pro. I hunted the surf for five years with a Fisher Impulse, a Fisher CZ-20 and a Minelab Excalibur and of the three I made more finds and better finds with the Impulse, the Impulse never required maintenance, and the Impulse had the best battery life by far. Now, eight years later, the Excalibur is dead and gone, the CZ-20 seems to have lost sensitivity, but the Impulse is the "Timex" of metal detectors. I should also mention that the Impulse was less than half the price of the other two detectors, although it was built in the same waterproof enclosure as the CZ-20.

Yes that would be awesome if you could turn the deus info a PI. Maybe one of the people from XP will see this post and chime in on if it is possible

Some company needs to make a hybrid detector that works who ever that company is will clean up
