PI - CORBYN

Hi,
I am very interested by the construction and realisation of
the matal detector "Corbyn" (http://metaldetector.bratsk-city.ru/master_pi.htm)
I should be pleased to receive of full circuit diagram and PCB.
Thanks very much
Gustaw

Hi Gustaw,
I realized that Corbyn's plan is really useful as an educational PI system , but I think that some details (think e.g. at the huge tv-EHT transistors used as electronic switches) need to be adbandoned in favour of modern components/technology (for the above it's better to use hi-power MOSFETs instead of transistors due to a better/lower Rds - the drain-to-source resistance) and consequently less power wastes and possibility of thermal runaways that can appear in the absence of adequated thermal masses and cooling solutions.
Also other stuff (timebase, gated amp., bandwidth amp. , tone gen. )seems now very dated.
I've realized all the parts but only on prototype-like perfboards and unfortunatly I haven't any PCB for it.
They worked , but with 'problems' (drift, huge noise ammount and propagation expecially in the passband section).
It works , sure...and Corbyn's was a great (and I think revolutionary) PI in the first '80 , but today, in the microprocessor/dsp age, it could be a kind of 'electronic nightmare' - also for a skilled electronic engineer !
Good luck,
Massimo
