mr bill: I have read your forum and my interest is a PI detector with some discrimination. in addition I was interested in a PI that will give more depth than my vlf minelab and fisher. I did not find a duscussion about depth on your forum. no doubt you must know if you are manufacturing this item. at least a good idea would be in order. I have reviewed the DEEPERS 8 and this seems to fit the bill. I am not comfortable sending a couple of grand to a mexican bank without some guarantee that at least the claims are halfway true. tks for your comments and anybody else that wants to respond. I just want to add that I combed the melbourne to sabastion beach and it looked like a herd of gophers just went through there. plenty of deep holes!!
 
There are many, many depth report, air tests with different coins, gold items, ground depth tests and with many different detectors...use the search tool on this forum and use "air Test", "Depth Test" Sensivity and such and you will find many, many tests.
Generally you will find for a Goldquest SS with 11" coil using quality earphone and fast SAT using a 10uS. delay...US Nickel 14" to 15". A US Quarter somewhere around 8" is normal.
Aquastar/Deepstar are High Powered PI' and I believe most would say 3" to 4" more depth over the Goldquest SS.
I am fairly sure most will agree with these measurement without to too much differences...Frank

What size coil do you have on minelab,go to a
14"or 18" coil.it will give more dept with less
trash.where do park in Sabistion.

tks frank. I was using an 18 inch coil which gives good response. the pinpointing is sometimes hard. it seems you get some more moving targets than the smaller 10 and 12 inch. i had a hard time parking. what i did was there is a little deli right next to the gate that is going on to the beach. i went in there and bought a sandwich and then asked the guy if i could park by the dumpster for an hour or so. they said ok. they had closed the gate because of construction and it is difficult to get a place. go early or walk a few blocks.

For the most part depth reading on various targets are meaningless, as they apply with any value to the detector in use at the time. Not trying to give a sharp answer here, but what standard would you suggest we use that I could test with here, and you would have the exact type item there to check the results ??
The only good item that comes to mind is the US nickel. All other coins would not be consistent because of the various degrees of worn finish on them. Certainly gold jewelry or gold nuggets couldn
 
greetings: i just wanted you to me a general answer if you thought the pulse would go deeper than most vlf. i understand the many variances. i think i will probably buy eric's new detector. tks

Seems to be owned by a Frenchman who builds and ships these units from Mexico. All payments are done via bank transfers ONLY!!!... no cash or credit cards. Already I am a skeptic.

I cannot even find a picture of what the complete unit looks like! As my mother always told me "if it sounds to good to be true...." of course she was referring to future girlfriends, but the same could be said for metal detectors.
 
Another thing that makes you raise an eyebrow is that their website shows almost 384 thousand hits, yet you can't find anyone who owns their detector.

you all are right, nobody seems to own one of these deepers except the guy in scotland. i saw the same thing about the hits on the web site. i think caution is an understatement. tks all
 
Another suspicious thing is not the large size of a gold nugget that it can find, but the typical small size nuggets it can find. Most PI machines can see a large nugget like pictured on their web site.
On their web page they claim that a gold coin was actually found. How convenient is was to actually find a gold coin and have a measuring stick and camera on hand. Right????? While this may be a recreation of a possible find with the machine, it is far from typical.
Stick to machines that publish cold, hard facts about how their machines perform.

There is no question here on depth. I have used other PI's made, never a Minelab PI but three other brands...I have owned over 20 VLF detectors from all major brands but Garrett. None that I have owned or used have the depth of Eric's PI's. I have never owned, but I have used one of Eric's "High Powered PI's". Never owned a "High Powered PI." I have only owned the normal powered PI like Goldquest SS. I know for a fact the High Powered PI are deeper and I will say 20 to 30% deeper than the normal powered. I have used a Special Made/High Powered TR machine (waterproof) that is only useable in Florida, GA, NC and SC. beaches (non-mineralized beaches) that will match the depth of a Foster PI..
So it is my opinion there is not any VLF that can match the depth of a Eric Foster PI...
If raw is the answer to what you need you have found the right place to aquire one.
