PI Fl beach question

Guest
Is it true that PI units need some mineralization
to work best? I hear in FL the beaches are low mineral. Would a vlf be the better choice?
Wet sand dry sand searching?
Thanks John

Sodium Cloride is a mineral(salt) and will give off a signal and is especially tough with VLF, except some with special circuitry. The PI basically ignores it and also goes deeper. The only problem with PI's is with beaches that have a lot of iron content from offshore ship wrecks, like in NC. Even Daytona Beach area has black sand! the beach sand there is fine Quartz. Don

I'll be leaving the 8th of April for Az.for a few days. Thanks for the help.
Bill

No, PI units do not need minerals to work better; as a matter of fact, severe negative ground minerals can severly degrade performance.
