I just recieved my first pi machine surf pi pro as I looked at the directions on threshold it said it adjusted the background hum, there is really no hum on my machine like on my sov. or tesoro just a pulse like beat is this the norm and how should it be adjusted? thanks ricky

jest set it to were you jest hear bearly hear it then wave something metal over the coil you should get a signal pi thresholds are not solid its kinda wavey

Hi Ricky,
Make sure you do any testing outside, and away from interference - power lines etc.
Eric.

I almost sent mine in as I could not understand what the threshold was.
Heres is what to do. Set gain to P or slightly below. Now from minimum, bring the threshold up. That buzzing sound you first hear is actually the threshold.
Like Eric said, try not to do test inside your house.
