PI in the surf

Looking into getting a PI for in the surf and a few feet under. Could anyone tell me if there is the same amount of trash in the surf as there is on the beach? (N.J. beaches)I would think there would be less. Thanks for your help.

the trash in the surf is not nearly as much as in the dry sand ! the trash in the surf is usually bobby pins fish hooks weights pieces of aluminum and nails pieces of iron but not that concentrated as in the dry sand oh and bottle caps but also good conducters dimes nickles rings pennys and quarters the trash has a tendency to wash down from the blanket line and thin out as you go father out in the water hope this helps larry ca

it but does it matter. I find very few iron targets, bottle caps or pulltabs in the surf. As I said, I don't claim to know why. Couple of thoughts though. One, most people don't carry their beer or soda cans into the surf, so most are lost up on the beach. Two, pulltabs and bottlecaps are lightweight and I think that if they do get into the surf, the surf moves them back up the beach. Also bottlecaps deteriorate at a rapid rate in the saltwater.
