PI Interfaced to Palm Computer

Bought my self a Palm Computer-not really interested in obvious things it willl do-schedule etc.
Found a great software ap where with a $60 piece of hardware this guy sells-an A/D convertor-you interface to yoour Palm Computer & you can use it as a data loger.
So my idea is to do a little experimenting with targets from A PI in controlled conditions & see if the resulting targets thus converted from analog to digital lead to any definitive results in terms of discrimination by analying the data. Signature analysis
If anyone is interested-E-mail me And I give you the guy's site. He's interested in making the Palm a data acquision device for analog sensors-me too but my sensor is a PI signal

Cappy,
If your going to do all that make darn sure you look at your signal in the Frequency domain! Like I keep pointing out on this forum and others, you will be able to see the slightest amount of differance on a Spectrum Analyzer than on an Oscilloscope. I've seen A/D boards with software advertised in Nut's and Volts,Circuit Cellar and other hobbiests mags for under $100.

Randy-
Thanks for the heads up-for anyone interested the site is:http://www.execpc.com/~fdeck/meld/
It has a frequency output for up to 500K and then you can use palm compatible versions of basic or c to manipulate your signal.
A very nice piece of equipment. I tried to sync up my new palm to my computer and I'm not a babe in the woods about such things but my PC comes up with an error having to do with Excel script.
I have neither the patience or inclination to figure that one out so I'll return the Palm & get my money back.
I still think this is an interesting exercise-using the single-doing a FFT along with a look up table.
I'm a little over my head as I'm only a tech but that never stopped me

Hi Cappy
Another idea for making a very mobile unit is to use the Elektor Gameboy oscilloscope. This is not a joke!. You buy a Gameboy (Black and white is fine) and then a two channal AD module that fits in the game slot, and you have mobile unit with build-in FFT software and everything else. Its even a storage scope.
See this link:

and then click on "Gameboy Digital Sampling Oscilloscope Closing sale"
I have one, works perfect.
