I've been detecting forever, but have never really ever taken the pi plunge, A question to the gurus...How does a pi machine handle areas of serious hot rocks, I have several areas where vlf or the like machines can't detect a penny at one inch because of the hot soil..is pi the answer..tons of iron ore soil...thanks
 
A lot would depend on the PI you choose to use. Some are bothered by every hot rock they come near, some are not bothered at all.
Just where are you going to use this unit would be just as importaint.
