Hope no one is getting bored with my MD'ing' pics??? May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Where did you dig your CW stuff, Ma?

Lisa

Nice CW digs. The big pic on the left has all modern 22 calibur items.

Thanks Steve! I like digging them also but didn't like the mountain side where they fought on during the Civil War! Lots of boulders and rocks....as you can see by all those flattened mini-balls and/or bullets! Was hot (had to wear long sleeves and pants to try keeping the poison ivy off me---very allergic to it) dirty and had rain off and iron a day or two, but I was glad to be there and find something! That is where I found my 1853 Sitting Liberty Quarter (which I haven't found as yet----lots more STUFF to go through) and the only silver found during our Club Hunts there! I didn't get to attend all of them though!

I have others found in parks and etc. when MD'ing and will find them sooner or later as I go through each bag &/or box! I am not organized like you, as you have some very neat displays! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks DK but it wasn't very pleasant on that mountain side in the Springtime with hot weather and lots of weeds and brush, but still glad I was able to go to some of the Club Hunts there! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Lisa, when my ex and I first joined the club, our president was able to get permission for us to go :detecting: on Shepherd's mountain, Pilot Knob MO. We would make it out once a year MD'ing for Civil War items. Many of them found Cannon Balls of various sizes and grape shot and etc., but I told Liz at the meeting, I wanted to find silver and I did, for I arrived late and didn't know where everyone was but saw one person while climbing towards the top! Chased a piece of wire for awhile and then went on farther to some large flat-topped rocks and that is when I dug a 1853 Seated Liberty Quarter and I was soooo happy as my desire had been answered! I think the mountain has a ski lift on it now and don't know if anyone can get permission to detect it! We used to gather as a group and rent motel rooms and got them cheaper by doubling up and paying a share of the cost! We had fun, went out to eat and then gathered together in the evening, after we all cleaned up from a hot, sweaty day digging up relics! My quarter was the only silver found by our club group!

I wouldn't be able to go again, even if the place was still open, because I couldn't climb the mountain or do much digging! Time marches on and waits for no one.....soooo go out when you can and find the goodies and post pics for us to see! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Mike, me son! I know they are more modern but I guess I had put them in the bag separately and so I just included a pic of them! We did find modern shells and bullets on the mountain, as many animal hunters were all over it, I'm sure! Squirrel hunting is very popular down in Southeast MO! I have loads of empty shells from hunting behind some apartments by Jefferson County Park....could only hunt on certain areas! I guess these are from the soldiers practicing their shooting skills before going of to Camp or War! Found other stuff there, too, and my ex, when he went by himself, if he didn't lie to me and get it from his mistress---who I found out was lying a lot---- found an older silver dollar where there were a lot of the older heavy spam cans or? to dig! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Travis.....I used to go :detecting: a lot and in different areas with some members of our club and was in dream heaven because of liking to MD so much! I have lots of memories, providing I haven't forgotten them! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thank you Mike! I would like to hear about your :detecting experiences and about your finds....you must have plenty after travelling all over the USA! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
