I really enjoy the old time Gospels, especially Southern, because I was raised in Southeast MO in the Ozark Hills! ;) Any info that anyone can give on these two rings, please let me know! Buster Brown and his dog tighe were on the Buster Brown shoes and I guess some of the rings! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

it is listed at between $25.00 and $75.00, made in the 40's. Now if it is gold the price raises to $500.00.
The book was printed in 1996 so the prices are probably considerably higher today.
Nice find, Steve in so az

HSteve + Ma; Great Find Ma. Prices did go up. For Buster Brown it is now it is $60.00 - $135.00.For the Superman ring it is $40.00 ok.They were promotional pieces sold to the public to increase the Comics popularity and increase their sales. Great Finds Ma. Bringing out the finds and the bacon home. Way to go. PEACE:RONB

HI Steve & Barker & Mike....the Buster Brown ring is an adjustable ring and certainly not gold! It must be the same metal as an old nickel, because it and my buffalo nickels are the same color after aging! I'm not sure the S ring is a Superman one...would need to see pics of them but the sides do have some kind of design and it is definitely an old ring! Thank you all for your comments and information! Will see if I can get pics and info off the Internet when I have the time! I also have another odd ring that is heavy like lead and looks like dull silver with small turquoise pcs in the band! Trying to find out if it is of any valuable! I was going to put the junk rings back in a plastic bag when I got to looking at some of the designs and their ages! I guess a person (detectorist) never knows what is found unless they look closely and check the items out before discarding....just never know what looks like junk.....just might not be! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Hi Ma; The S ring is Superman. I've seen it many times. The metal is either Nickel or Alumium. I'm betting on, so to speak, They're Aluminum..If you Post the ther rings I can give you Fair value idea for tthem ok. I'm pretty good at it.Nice Finds. Loved Superman. PEACE:RONB

Thanks Barker! The S ring isn't like the Superman's S on the rings on the Net! The swirl is big at the top and smaller swirl at the bottom! Yet, if you say it is and that you've seen others like it, well I believe you! It isn't aluminum as it has to be nickel for it is heavier than aluminum and almost as darkened like the Buffalo nickels and the Buster Brown Ring! I will try posting the ring in question later! The turquoise in the band are like rectangles and very small only 4 of them, but I think they are real turqoise and the ring might be nickel or lead....I don't think it is silver but is heavy weight and a man's band! I guess I will be looking closer to my cheap rings and see if they aren't so cheap! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
