Pictures of large cent, flying eagle and indians, plus relics

Ok, here's the pictures as promised. Didn't bother with any of the wheats. I think that buckle could be a rather old one, the house dates back to the early 1700's. The items with the slots are two broken pieces of a harmonica reed, I think. The token is a missouri sales tax token. Apparently mid to late 1930's from what I read. Never found a tax token before, I don't believe they were used much in new england.

That is pretty cool.... Like that large cent. :clapping:

I like the tax token... amazing if you do some reasearch how many they produced. Several states used them i have a couple as well.

Very nice finds Chris. The large cent and the flying eagle are hard to find out here in Washington state. We find a lot of the Wa.state sales tax tokens though. HH on your next outing.:detecting:

1857. They only made them for circulation 2 years, 1857, 1858. They made some in 1856 as well, but my understanding is they were pattern coins and not for circulation, so unlikely you'll ever find one (either above or below ground for that matter, they're major $$$$)
Don't waste too much time trying to learn the signal for one with your machine. They basically sound like a high pulltab signal, a little more conductive than your average pulltab (but not by much). I really don't think you'll have success getting rid of pulltabs without missing most flying eagles or copper-nickel indians, especially once you consider signal variability from different buried targets.
