Pin Fire Cartridge!!!!

razor66

New member
Hi All from downunder
Havent been on for a while, havent been out tecting too much but got out last weekend to a friends lease and found an old 12m/m BIRMINGHAM pin fire cartridge. After doing some research they were stopped being made back in the 1800s :).

Would it be worth anything or just a collectors item? Heading back out this weekend coming as the lease owner has given me another area to look at.

Glen

good find razor66, Did you mean rim fire???

No primer at the rear end, no sign of a rim indentation. There will be a pin or a small hole towards the rear of the case where the firing pin was if it is pin fire.

Kynoch Birmingham 12 bore cartridge.
I did not find much info re this cartridge, but
I guess they are worth something because I found one on auction at.
