Pin Pointers

I need to get a new pin pointer. I don't want the one that attaches to the EX. I go in the lake with mine once and awhile, Almost to the control box. And having that thing strapped on will cut down on how far I can walk out. So its either the CP-200 or the Automax V4. My V2 I wore the tip off and packed the end full of mud. That inturn pushed the probe back up the pipe by about and inch and a half. I thought the batteries were going dead on it. I like the Automax probe but know very little on the CP-200? Anybody have a CP-200 and what do you think of it? What is the max distance it will detect from? 2 inches or less.
Thanks for any and all input.

Since I have the Sunray on the Explorer and the Detector pro mounted to my X 70 I don't use mine much, but it always worked well and was sensitive enough.

Just a suggestion, buy the X-1 probe and order it with the upper shaft. When you plan to water hunt take off the new upper shaft with the X-1 probe attached and put your original upper shaft back on. The X-1 probe will be the best accessory you'll ever buy for the Explorer. If you just don't want the X-1 probe the next best thing (in my opinion) would be the Vibra probe.
