Can anyone tell me approx where the target is withing relation to the coil when a signal is received ,

Just like it would be with any detector, the center of the coil.

One would initially get the first response on the edge of the coil, but pinpointing would put it in the center of the coil. Hmmm, Did I say that right ???? <IMG SRC="/forums/images/wink.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=";)">

Hey guys, with the 15 inch DD WOT on my XT-17000 the target is all over the place-HA!

When getting two or three scoops full of sand on the beach and I have the target out of the hole I turn the GQ on its' side and use the side of the coil to find the object...Frank
 
Perfect centre pinpointing if the target is lying flat but if not !
Do an air test with a pound coin held at 45 degrees and see what happens.
