pinpoint mode??

Many times when I go to pinpoint a hit my x Terra goes crazy it has the same high tone and stays the same pitch. How do u pinpoint without getting a higher tone to tell where the coin is??

I think Bill nailed it. Always be sure that you lift your coil up and out of the way of the target or any other metal object before you go into pinpoint mode. You'll get exactly as you have described if not.
