pinpointer?

I'm not sure what everybody uses but you can have my Garret Pro Pointer when you can pry it from my cold dead fingers.

:usaflag:The Pro-Pointer is priceless... Say that fast 5 times

I have several pinpointers. A couple White's Bullseye II's, a couple Garrett pro pointers, several others. The best (by far) imho, is the ORIGINAL white's bullseye. Maybe I just got a good one - but it has a reach at least double any of the others - even another bullseye. My second choice would be the Garrett pro pointer. What bugs me about this is that if one pinpointer has that kind of reach, why don't they make them all that way? This thing will beep a dime at about 3 inches away. Next best is the Garrett which will find that dime at about an inch and a half to two inches.

My first and only pointer is the Garrett Pro Pointer. I cannot compare to any others. But....

I have located clad coins 1-2" down with it.
I use it parallel to the ground first. It's near the surface I will get a beep/vibe. I then switch to pointer end to bring me in closer. It works for me.

I then know to use my probe with a small brass ball and coin popper to retrieve coin. This tends to same me time instead of cutting plugs.

The pro pointer is great in the holes and Plug tops as well.

I've got a 580. I will only use it in the water as it's a pain to turn on and off. Have to hold it upside down and wait for it to beep at you. I use the X-1 most of the time but occasionally grab the Pro Pointer out of it's holder and run it around the hole as well. Since it's in all metal all the time, not like the X-1, it's really easy to grab and get some different information about your excavation. Simple push button for on and off. It's totally weatherproof if you put some tape over the speaker vents. Why they made it with a speaker I'll never know. The darn thing vibrates in your hand. Duh! Do I have to hear it also to know their is something there?

The Vibra Probe is a good one. I use to use it before i went to the sunray probe. I have a friend that likes the Garrett Pro Pinpointer. He uses it instead of his Sunray probe. Any of the better probes will do the job.

Garrett Pro Pinpointer - it's just awesome. Sometimes I'll use it in leiu of the sunray hanging on my detectors.

You better watch it, Cootie ('haven't heard that word for a long time!) I wouldn't mind having another Garrett. !!!!!:bouncy::wiggle::clapping::lol: What, me worry ? Good old Alfred! I loved "Spy vs. Spy" best!

I had the Vibraprobe 580. It works well. The only problem was it interfered with my Sovereign Gt. The Garrett does not. It all depends on what else you are swinging. It never made my F75 chirp at all.
