Pinpointers

I just ordered me a new Explorer SE PRO. I have had Explorers in the past and don't want the attached X-1. I just don't like the pinpointer attached to the detector.

Please don't try to sell me on the X-1.

My question is, which handheld pinpointer is the best? I was looking at the Garrett but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Thanks in advance.

Harold

If you won't get the X-1 then the next best one is the Garrett. I carry it plus use the X-1. It makes a loud noise that is totally unnecessary as it vibrates and you can tell by feel that it is finding something. I put plastic tape over the speaker holes on mine to shut it up. It's tough too. Jim

If you don't like the audio on the Pro Pointer, get the THD Garrett. A little bit shorter, just vibrates. The list on them is higher, but I picked mine up for $70 new off @bay.
It works just as well as a vibra probe 560 and is smaller.

I like the Pro Pointer. Not only can you use it for coins and relics but it makes a good stud nail finder.

I looked at the video of the Garrett on their sit and it will do fine. I just live a couple of miles from Garrett and they really support the local clubs.

Thanks for all your comments.
