Platypus coil covers.

Have any of you Platypus users found the need to tape the cover to the coil due to them being a lose fit.?

Iam lucky with mine but some folks are complaining, perhaps it was a particular production batch a produced little oversize?

Thanks,Jerry.

I have not herd of anyone having a loose cover. The one I have has a nice tight fit ??? May be suggest a hot glue gun around the edges to hold it in place or contact them to see if there has been others with the similar problem...

Mine is working fine. When I did take it off to clean it I used Silicone to put it back on and seal it. The tape covers the outside fine but some of the inside radius's can let small sand into it.
I am happy with mine.

A very costly coil, should have no faults when sent out no excuses poor quality control

Hi JBM,

Yes I had exactly that problem with my Platypus, I contacted Coiltek and they told me to silicone it on, which I did, and put a strip of coil tape around the outside, I haven't had any problems with it since but originally the coil cover used to fall off. I agree that a quality product like the Platypus should not have this problem.

All the best.....Boony
