I found this buckle looking thing sat. at an old park. It is made of brass and heavy for its size. The quarter is only to show the size. it also was found at the same park. any help would be appreciated. Jim P.:wiggle:
 
that it is an old Government Issue strap of some kind. Maybe from an Army back pack strap or a rifle sling or something like that. Just a guess though. Cool find!
 
I found it at a spot that the union cavalry trained on during the civil war so I thought it might be a bit old.
 
That looks like the Adjudgent Gerneral shield on the strap.
