I just read on a popular auction site that for sale is a "new improved" chest mount type setup for the Finny & the Sea Hunter.
It looks good to me and apparently from the description listed has a type of cable restraint system that will protect both the headphone & coil connectors from any damage
"even if you were to drop the rod for any reason". I think the design seems well thought out and appears solid to me. I also like how it would put the controls in front while looking down providing easy access to them in deeper water.
I know others have rigged up chest mounted setups in the past, but I think the issues were mostly about the constant bending on the the connectors during use (known failure points).
It's finally nice to see that more "ready made" options are now available for us users here!!!
From what's described, I believe this setup would make a very light-swinging detector with the mono coils and I just might give it a try???
