Possible trip to Florida in the works

Well it's seems we might make a trip to Florida next month, and my F70 is going with us. We will be staying right on the water, I have never hunted salt water beaches, so any advice would be great. I am truly excited about this opportunity and will post after the trip as to how I did. Our hunting here took a dive we got so much rain the lake has consumed out beaches, so i havent been able to hunt much at all, but that isn't all bad, the water is up, the weather is nice, and people will be out playing and loosing next winters finds. Lol

Specifically, do a few tests for me on nickles in the wet sand wouldja? I just want to know what settings may work the best if I ever get my F70 on the wet salt. I will say this, I'd work the high and dry like a barefoot Tasmanian devil each and every morning! I think most beach hunters head straight for the water, so theres usually some gold on whatnot left on the high sand off to the side of the main resort beaches. Good Luck!

Ok Mud, I will kick a Nickle around in the wet sand and see how it reads, what all different setups are you interested in?

I went down to Pensacola last month with the f5. The sand there was snow white and Fe3 04 showed 1 bar, and a phase of between 35 and 45. Auto ground balance didn't work very well, but seemed to do a lot better manually balancing. In the wet sand, re-balancing and turning down the gain a bit seemed to work well. Found some junk jewelry and a mess of clad that I gave to my grandson. Mental note to self Should have used some sun screen!

It was great fun, and a far cry from the high mineralization we have up here in the Pacific NW!
