Posted for Minelab concerns

Just information on my Minelab repair. Sent Xterra 705 to Minelab in Illinois Monday 11/8. Arrived at Minelab Wed. 11/10. Received repaired unit Thurs. 11/18. Quick backyard test shows unit seems to be working properly. Will follow-up later on other issues after field testing. One problem was with the pinpointing locking on and they installed new PCB unit. In comparison, also sent my Garrett pro-pointer to Garrett on same date for issues with it also. New pinpointer is due to arrive tomorrow from Texas. Both companies responded well answering my emails and service was quick. Whereas that is what seems common for Garrett, Minelab service has been an issue of concern by many on these forums and if the problem with my unit is an indication, they seem to be moving forward in improving repairs and customer service.

repair service and they made no bones about it.30 full days before they would touch it.
I am done with ML and have been a long time Explorer XS which I will keep.
If I decide to get another ML it will be a used one and I will never send one back
for them to repair.
When ML was sold to the new company, they changed for the worse.
They forgot about customer service and the fact that the customer must
come first.
Then they started screwing over the Dealers, another dumb move on their part.
I guess those dam bean counters called the shots like they do at so many other
companies these days.

hate to say it..,but i think they are getting ready to croak!
probably a money flow issue!..time will tell!

(h.h!)
j.t.

I have issues with the fact that they refuse to sell parts to the consumers. If some of the precious ML plastic breaks, you have to send it in for the 30 day wait or hope you can find a dealer that has some old parts laying around. A lot of people on that own sovereigns like to modify the setup due to the weight of the detector. Being able to buy mounting brackets and other parts would be a big help. Maybe if they croak, they will sell the patents to whites or tesoro so we will get some service. ML is riding on the talents of the original designers and employees. Many of which were released, after the company sold to Plexus. I mean Codan or whatever it is now.

Can I just say how awesome Garrett is?
They are just so friendly fast and responsive.

I think my next detector might just be that ATPro they came out with.
