Power Balancing a Clean Sweep on a Vaquero

With cold weather making an early move into Ohio, I decided to try and power balance a Clean Sweep coil....Will be out tomorrow at an area I covered with the Clean Sweep earlier this year..Since coverage is pretty good, any finds will have to be deeper..The grass is a bit lower, and there is more moisture in the ground..Of course these last two variables will have no effect on depth, but I think if anygood items are found,,I may become a believer.... I went out to Jersey ,hunted a 1700's house with the stock 8 by 9 coil. Two clad dimes, and a nickel....All three were DEEP..The Vaquero really tried, but the soil conditions were only good to sink coins. There have to be Colonials, but in Chinese territory...... If there is a depth increase, at the field tomorrow,,,,,,with the increased foot print of the CS coil, you don't want to be second man to search the area...Or so I assume....

I would only add Monte's advice: Tesoros are 2-filter machines and gain a little depth at a slower sweep speed. I've found it true on the Silver umax.

The CS Coil is not a depth hog by my understanding. CSs cover alot of area fast but only at a limited depth.

If you use the standard coil or bigger & overlap your sweeps you can get deeper than a CS doe's & still find targets the CS missed.

KVM, I went back to the park to the abandoned farm house Monday. Searched 2.5 hours in the woods behind. Found two coins, a fair shape 1787 NJ penny only 5" deep and a wheatie. Been over that area many times before. Like they say "no place is ever searched out". One of these days I'm going to try the Golden, that sucker gets a dime at 8" max in air tests with the 8" donut coil. Both farm houses are only 3/4 mile apart, but for some crazy reason the old stuff at Miltons 1700's house is too deep.

Aha, I drive 1000 miles RT to find two clad dimes and a nickle? Holding out? Am gonna sic Vinnie Goomba on youse..Hey, it was a pleasure meeting your lovely wife, seeing you and the old area again..The place where the British burned the building down is one I am going to work on.. used to date the gal that lived in the house with the historical marker in the mid fifties. She was not at the reunion, but someone is going to try and get me her phone number..May have a hot spot for you to hit...burned building, lots and lots of nails. Loan you my Compadre..

Stop the research, lots of nails doesn't sound good. I avoid trashy places like the plague. Hurry back, the place is all yours to hit with the Compadre, I'll be glad to share the finds.

Okay, send me the Colonial, and I'll send the two dimes and nickle...Going over the coils.I have a Compadre 7 inch model.Should be as good, or better than the 5.75 concentric, in nails, on the Vaquero.. So, I don't need that coil...I am going to be ground sweeping until I can't dig..Maybe the 8 by 10, on the Ridge looking for Copper artifacts WITH your anti hang up plate on the bottom..Leaves will keep the ground soft for a while longer.. May try the Vista RG 750, but don't think I will need the extra depth..Since Jersey has milder weather, and if the fields are not trash laden, I'll send it to you just in case you have a deeper than heck site..Just found the battery charger, will top off the battery, and do some air tests on the 750..It is deep, but will drive you buggy in trash..DD coil.. What's your shoe size????? I also want to go down river from the bridge.. Should be guns up the wazoo there. Forgot. Will have a Silver in a water tight box, U/W phones, in case you decide to sit down in the water..Send Colonial....

KVM, The Constrike can get me the deeper stuff when it feels like working hard. Don't need the Vista, too lazy to spend time learning it. Was plenty stressed out learning the C$, nine months later and I'm still wild eyed, not quite right yet. Could be colonial stuff in the river near the bridge but would be too trashy, and I like the comfort of dry land too much. Keep the ideas coming, you might have a winner yet. Jabbo
