Clumsy Ma fell last night in the Family Room as I was checking the front door and afterwards stumbled over a box that I had personal papers in and a bag that had papers to dispose of....I landed on my hands on the carpet and hurt my left leg and shin but prayed and rubbed it and was asking Jesus to help me and that there wouldn't be any bruising or soreness....I do have a fairly large bruise towards my hip but it isn't too sore only to the touch! Thank the Lord that I didn't break any bones...but the biggest problem I had was getting up, as I cannot stand to be on my knees to push myself up (it is like kneeling on glass and hurts way too bad), so I scooted with my hands and feet slowly all the way to my bedroom and after I was inside I took my afghan (which was folded but usually isn't (God prepared ahead of time) and then at the head of the bed I took my pillow and placed it on the afghan and then kneeled on the softness and took my right hand and pulled myself up by the dresser top upon my right foot and then took my left hand and pushed up on my mattress (which is higher than most) and got on my left foot which was very weak but I made it and then pulled myself up into the bed! I was soooo weak from the exertion of it all that I couldn't do much else! The phone was upon my TV Entertainment Center and no way to reach it and I had already taken my cell phone to the bedroom which I lay on a shelf at the head of my bed...so if I couldn't have gotten to my bed I would have had to lay there all night and no telling how long before help would have come! I guess Ma is getting to be a mess but Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, that I have help from above and things turned out much differently than they could have! I can understand the commercial, Help, I've fallen and I can't get up, because I cannot get up when down on the floor without something to help me get up! I hope you all fair much better than I am at my age or when you reach my age! :sad: :cry: :) Amen! :angel: Ma Betty
 
Wow MA maybe you should start being sure that you have your cell phone on you at ALL times so you can call for help....keep it in your pocket or get a case that you can clip to your clothing or hang around your neck etc. I'm really glad you are okay and God was watching over you.
 
Kinda scary aye! Glad you got up and are doing fairly well. You should consider keeping that phone with you or looking into one of those things you wear on you that allows you to get help if needed.

Yes, I could use a medic alert but I've too many bills now and would have to give up something that I already pay for...but I will think about it! Little sorer now and not easy to move! The Lord is with me and as far as my cell phone it would be difficult to keep it with me all the time as I don't have pockets like men do! :) Thanks for caring about me but I know Jesus is with me and He will take care of me someway; somehow! I will try to keep the cell phone where I can reach it until I do get in bed and I can reach it while I am lying down....just have to remember like remembering to make sure the doors are locked! :shrug: Older age isn't FUN at times! :sad: May God Bless! Yes, Mike (chgo area) The white stuff started falling this afternoon fine, light flakes but thick coming down turned the street and sidewalks white very quickly! Don't know how much actually fell as it got dark and I couldn't see whether it had quit or not! May God Bless! Amen! :angel: Ma Betty
