Pray for Cliff and me! He is in St. Louis University Hospital (SLUH) and....

it is quite a ways from where we live! It is in north city and I am not familiar with that area nor downtown St. Louis, as it has been years since I've been in these areas. There has been so much change that I lost my way last night, after taking Cliff to be admitted after hours waiting for them to get it done, and ended up in the poor black side of the city and I would have been very scared and stressed had it not been for prayers! I was praying for God to help me find the way out so I could get back on South I-55! Well it seemed like God told me to follow this one car going east and I did and finally found my way to go S on I-55! I sure breathed a sigh of relief and thanked God and Jesus for getting me to safety. I couldn't stop and ask directions for everyone I saw in cars or walking were black and being in a strange area, I didn't want any of them to know I was lost.....saw a police car parked and he was black, too! I just didn't feel comfortable, as a person never knows who will help or who will send someone to rob or kill you!

A couple moving to St. Louis from another state in a Van, about 2:30 in the morning a few years ago, lost their way and ended up in the poorer side of the city and were shot and killed or the hasband was, I really can't remember the full details but they were robbed! Really a bad situation!

Any way, either tomorrow or Thursday, I will be going back to get Cliff when he is discharged from the hospital! They did some tests on him today and will be doing some more tomorrow! Please pray for safe traveling and that Cliff will do well on his medical testings! Thanks everyone and God Bless! Betty

I know how you felt about being a an strange area, no matter who lives in that area. The point is that one never knows what bad intentions could arise in such areas, but God and our Dear Lord saw you through. I would like to help, so when you need to get around, why don't you e-mail me privately and tell me where you need to travel to and I'll google the information, and send it to you, making sure it is correct. This way you don't have to worry about getting lost again.... Think about it, and let me know...God bless, I have you and Cliff in my prayers always...

Betty, I just noticed your prayer request. I don't know whether you have gone back to St. Louis or not but be assured that you and Cliff are in my prayers. Drive carefully and don't push yourself too hard.

Thanks again everyone for your prayers! I really don't live that far away from the hospital, takes probably about an hour in good weather! I just don't know the areas north of me any more, since I live in South County of St. Louis, MO. Where the hospital is in north city and after leaving I ended up driving through the bad part of town...there is robberies, hi-jackings, shooting, gang wars and etc. going on almost every day and I just felt uneasy...I knew it was not a place for an older white woman with handi-cap license plates on my car!

Cliff came home today and had to drive in the rain to go get him and bring him home! Princess, his cat, sure was lonesome without him and won't let him out of her sight, as she yowls when he does! :) One traffic accident held me up in getting to the hosp from I-55 onto Lafayette and then when on I-55 again there was another accident backing up the interstate for miles...with creeping along at a snails pace. Finally got cleared and arrived home with the rain pouring most of the time! SURE WAS RAINING...which caused the accidents, but I think the Lord for getting us home safely and I was praying a lot for Jesus to help us and keep us and the car safe!

Thanks Philo for your help, but I am going to get a compass (as I got turned around on which way to go on certain streets) and I have a St. Louis MO map I can use....but didn't!

They ran tests on him and he was in hosp from Monday evening until today (Thurs evening) He didn't get to sleep very much (bed too hard) and also didn't get to eat much! He has to see his lung dr, another dr and his primary dr and so will be running some more! More tests are supposed to be done in a different place! I've been soooo tired that I haven't typed the third and final page of the scriptures concerning heaven and hell....but I will...when I can, but have to run tomorrow for meds and groceries! About out of milk and a lot of other things!

Thanks again for your prayers and I know God answered them, as Cliff and I are home safe! He found out he has Pulmanary Hypertension...but doesn't have diabetes nor Mesothelioma as far as we know now!

God Bless! May the Lord bless each of you with your heart's desires, as long as they are in His will of being for your good and His purpose! Betty

Glad yall got home safe Ma and I will keep praying for both of you.

Black, white or purple; I'm sure that cop would have helped you.

Prayer is a wonderful and powerful thing. But when you're lost, prayer works best in conjunction with a GPS.

Thanks for your post marcomo and welcome to the forum, if you are new, as we are always happy to have new brothers and sisters in Christ as CMD members! As far as the color, I am not prejudiced , but there are so many crooked policemen in St. Louis City and probably the County, too, that I just didn't want anyone to know that I was lost! I hadn't been in downtown St. Louis, for many, many years, and with all the changes by MOdot, nothing seemed familiar to me, in the older part of the city, but when I got into the downtown section, the streets started to get familiar and I knew to get to South I-55, I had to go east toward the river and when I followed that car, I was where I needed to be! It is best to not get noticed too much in a strange area, especially at night (I am glad it wasn't raining, for I have night blindness and raining makes it worse) when it is eery looking anyway!

So, I just wanted you to know that it wasn't the color of their skin, as the white policemen might not be what they should be either! That is why I prayed and praised the Lord for hearing my prayers and protecting me! Also, for Cliff and me when it was raining so hard, plus accidents on the highways, I prayed for God's loving protection over Cliff, my car, and me! Doesn't hurt to ask for help, but just need to make sure it is the right ones and God and Jesus are!

 God Bless and may he bless you, mightily, and keep you safe! Betty

good to see you again!
God bless.

Ma. Been busy with the Easter pageant, and have not been on the forum for a few days. We are praying for Cliff and you. Keep looking up to Jesus.

God bless you and Cliff as well, Betty.

Do consider getting a GPS for safety in case you guys are ever in a situation like that again.

They've come down in price to where you can get one very reasonably, and they are easy to learn to use.

Thank you, marcomo, can't purchase one right now, but hopefully when I get my home sold, I will have the money to do so! I have heard they are great to use! :) God Bless! Betty

Thank you Mike and DK! I have been really busy too....taking Cliff to Drs and Hospitals! The pharmacy didn't have enough pills to fill his prescription, so with just 10 pills and taking three a day, I gotta run back to the pharmacy to pick up the rest of his pills! I have to admit it, but I don't like going places all the time, as I am a stay-at-home person, but the Lord has me going and moving, so maybe it is for my health and Cliff's too! :) God Bless! Betty

I'm still praying for y'all, Betty. While you're out there on the move, you just never know who might come across your path that you could minister to! It could possibly be for that persons benefit instead of yours and Cliff's!
