Pray for Gary

Please pray for a friend of ours (Joan and I) from our former church. He went for a routine physical for work and found out he has some kind of anemia or something like that. Heard it is the opposite of leukemia. Not producing enough white or red blood cells. I need to research it or if anyone knows what it is let me know. Anyway he is supposed to go to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Chicago to see about it even though the local docs say it is not exactly cancer. Docs say he won't make it through any treatment. Details kind of sketchy right now.

Praying for Gary and the drs might think he will not make it through any treatment, but our Lord Who is Jesus the Great Physician can heal him with or without the dr's care! My prayer is for them to find the right diagnosis, quickly, and then for our Savior to use His healing virtue and move in a mighty way to bring Gary to better health and to live and serve God in an honorable and glorified way! Amen! Ma Betty

It is usually treated with antibiotics and Vitamins but there are several types of it. It all depends on what type you have. Thats the best I can tell you. I hope they can treat him. Best wishes. PEACE:RONB

Hey DK, there are many different types of anemia. Pernicious anemia is a B12 deficiency, which is usually treated with monthly injections. Iron-deficiency anemia is caused by poor diet, blood loss, malabsorption, cancer...there are many causes. Treatment depends on the cause. Detailed blood tests (which I'm sure they've done), testing to make sure bleeding isn't the cause (GI doc would do those tests) and sometimes bone marrow testing is done. Anemia usually only involves red blood cells and hemocrit. There are 5 types of white blood cells, so it's iffy with the info you know as to what's going on. Look up Aplastic anemia-kinda sounds like what you are talking about. It causes low blood counts on both red and white blood cells and it is VERy dangerous. It really isn't cancer, but it is usually treated with a bone marrow transplant. Hope this info helps. We will be praying.
