Prayer for my mom...

Joe G

New member
My brother found her on the floor in the kitchen when he went to her house (because she didn't answer the phone). I did get her a pendent, but she just didn't remember to use it.... Long story short, we thought she had a mini stroke or something. She was taken to the hospital. Turns out she had a leg AND bladder infection on top of being severely anemic and very low in b-12. (the lack of b-12 can cause the dementia symptoms). That's kinda strange because she has an incredible appetite and well rounded meals. She was released yesterday to a nursing home for rehab. Just got back from seeing her. She seems to be better. They will start her on exercise on Monday and some activities. Just praying she'll be able to go home and that we'll be able to figure out how to get her the care she needs. She's in a good nursing home but I have to tell you, there are a LOT of sad faces in there. Gonna have to spend some time with some of the other people there the next time I go see my mom. Broke my heart.

Yeah, a lot of older people who need talking to are there. Praying your mom gets lined out. Sooner or later we all go through these things. steve in so az

Yes Joe, there are a LOT of lonely and sad people in those nursing homes. I worked in one for awhile as a maintenance man and driver, many never have a family member ever show up to visit.

A church I used to go to had a weekly ministry where we would go in and sing hymns with the people every Tuesday and I really enjoyed that.

May God bless your mother and your family.

Mark

I know what you mean about the faces in the nursing home...Sherry's Mom is in one for Lewy Body Disease...a dimentia that is usually misdiagnosed as Alzheimers.

Praying now Joe.

Praying for your mom, Joe, to recover to be able to go home and for you and others to be able to get the help and care she may need! Amen! Keep the faith that God is working it all out for yours and her good and for His purpose! Visiting the ones having to be in the nursing home would be great, for I know at my age, they must get very lonely and just waiting to pass away from this old earth! Sad when the homeless and the nursing home patients don't have any place to go or not many people who care to talk to them! Life is full of sadness, but Praise God that we will have a beautiful bright mansion in glory when we leave these mortally weak clay bodies!

Long ago, our Sunday School class visited the ladies in a nursing home, while there these two women went into the bathroom and didn't shut the door and we could see right in! The worker there said that the nursing home patients lose their inhibitions and don't care any more! Hope and pray Cliff and I don't ever have to be in one or all alone in our older ages! God Bless! Betty

Me too. Welcome rentasquid. I assume you are new to the forum as I have not seen your post since I have been here. A great group of Christians with lots of love and compassion, and knowledge.
