Dear Praying Friends,
This morning Helen, who I work closely with at GMA, came in with the heart wrenching news that her dear friend Merry Sawyer's son, Jeremy, stepped on a IED while in Afghanistan. At this time he is still in Kandahar where he has had several surgeries, resulting in the amputation of both legs. The hope is that they will be able to stabilize him enough to transfer him to Germany for further care.
While I have not met Merry, I do know that she is a dear sister in the Lord. She is currently without work (she does elder care and will do housework) and has no resources to go to be with him in Germany once he is transferred. Pray that through this Jeremy will find Jesus; that the doctors, nurses and medics that cross His path will be a light in this horrifying darkness. Pray too, for peace for Merry in the chaos and uncertainty of this entire situation.
Please feel free to pass this request along to any and all that you know would be willing to pray!
Thank you!
