(Not Mike from MI) Jamie from Mi posts here from time to time. This is an email from his daughter!!!!!!!!!..............

Hey all!

Just wanted to give you a quick update on my upcoming trip to Turkey! For those of you who don't know I will be in Turkey from July 18-August 1st. It's sorta vacation sorta missions. I will be meeting up with Amanda and Peter Shakelford and traveling around with them. I have a few prayer requests so if you think of me/us please pray!

Health and safety (so this one is pretty generic:)Pray that God would connect us with Christians in the country that we could encourage and also give us an idea of what it is like to live in Turkey so we can bring back their stories and share them with more Christians that can pray for them. For those of you who don't know Turkey is 99% Muslim. While there is religious freedom in Turkey, there have been a lot of reports of Christians being discriminated against, etc. for their faith. I've been reading books by Brother Andrew (if any of you haven't read God's Smuggler - it's a great one to read!) who talks a lot about meeting the needs of Christians in Muslim countries.Amanda and Peter are looking for a place somewhere in the country (outside of Istanbul) where they could find jobs so they can live in Turkey. Turkey does not allow missionaries in - so they would have to able to work there in some other capacity in order to minister there. Amanda and Peter don't really have any contacts or know where to start as far as finding a job, so please pray that God would connect them/us with the right people.
For those of you who are concerned about my safety - there are no travel advisories/warnings for US citizens traveling in the country. Amanda and Peter are already there are doing fine!

If you notice people that are not on this email list - please feel free to forward it on. I didn't have everybody's email addresses in my address book.

Love you all!

See you in a couple of weeks!

Love,

Bethany

Prayers for all and may they be safe in the loving arms of Jesus! Dear God, Please open the way for them to meet other Christians and make a way for them to obtain jobs and be able to minister to the lost souls of Turkey! I pray that you place a protective hedge around each one and keep them out of harms way and if there be danger give them godly wisdom to say and do that which pleases You! These are Your Children, Lord, and I know they are sent by You and are in Your will and protective love! May they spread the Gospel of Jesus throughout the foreign land to which you send them to preach, teach and help those who need it and will welcome them with open arms! Amen! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost for mercy, grace and miracles performed of safe traveling and souls won!

God Bless!

I spent 30 days with the military in Turkey. I would not go back there! I was almost shot! Almost thrown into prison! Had their Customs people steal a radio (little AM radio at that) and almost had over $2,000 worth of camera equipment confiscated. I lucked out...they only took ALL the film I had.

I could tell you all of how this came about but would be a long story. Simply put, they could never get me to go back there again.

Prayers for safety at the top of my list of prayer for your daughter and those with her.
