This is an update on my friend who's husband had heart surgery and who's 4year old fell out a window. Here is her message. ( Long but worth the read )

I don't know where to start with this other than to say THANK YOU!!! to all of our friends and family that have stood by us through this last 8 days. You all know who you are, so many wonderful people helping us!! Usually Derek and I are very private about most things in our lives especially about Health issues. Many of you already know that on August 9th, Derek went in @ U of M Cardiovascular center for an Open Heart Surgery. He was to only have his Mitral Valve repaired and 1 other procedure but ended up having his valve replaced and 3 other procedures done with his heart as well. On the same day, about 3 hours into his surgery, I received a call from a Medical Social Worker at Bronson stating that Our Son Alex, had fallen from a window and was in the ER in kalamazoo. Alex was immediately admitted to the Children's Hospital, Pediatric ICU. From there we began a long road of many tests ct scans, x rays, an Intracranial Pressure Monitor a left crainotomy, mri and was also on a ventilator and feeding tubes and a few others and a left leg fracture. In the past few days There had been so many positive outcomes with both of my boys and I could not keep up with all the texts and phone calls so here we are. We are far from being out of the woods yet but making great strides as all the dr's, surgeons, rn's etc. see amazing improvements. I have to just say God is so good to us!!! The latest on Derek is that he should be able to come home either saturday or sunday. He is extatic about "busting out of that place" and cannot wait to see his Baby boys!! First stop, Bronson PICU! And as of today for Alex he has started with occupational and physical therapists and while he didn't like being messed with he did well. He even got to get out of bed and cuddled in a recliner with Mommy!! Oh, how I cherished that!!! He still remains to be very responsive and is begining to be verbal again as well, although we cannot really understand him too well, again he's progressing in the right direction. Meds are continuing to be weined off very slowly and now at this point we wait on his abilities to swallow and eat on his own. My apologies to those whom I was texting individually for updates, this is easier as I feel like I was sending and recieving a hundred texts each day, I could no longer keep up!! I felt comfortable with our situation now to post publicly. Please do not take this as i didn't want to talk to anyone on the phone, it is comforting to hear the voices of our Family and Friends!! I will continue to post updates daily!!! Thank you to All for your continued Prayers!!

good news!! continued prayers!!!!!!!!

can't even imagine what it would be without You by not ever having You by our side and Your love within our hearts as You heed the many needs and heal through the virtuous healing touch of Your dear Son, Jesus! You are an amazing and miracle making God and Savior, indeed! Amen! Ma
