Pro Gold Headphones

Just wondering how good the Pro Gold headphones are. I have 2 pair of (without stating specific brand name) Grey colored headphones and 1 pair is less than a week old. My question is are the Pro Golds any better an if so why or what makes them better?

head phones are like woman...no one model is perfect...
I have a pair of sunrays...I liked the fit better than other brands...I don't think the audio is better or worse...
However, the hard plastic frame broke on both sides-where the phones rotate- and that is not covered, most of the headphone is not covered if you read the fine-print...now they don't seal to my head and so they are relegated to being a back up set...I won't buy any more...
To be even-handed...the weather was cold and I was wearing a brimed hat with the side-brim buttoned to the cap part...still, they should have been made of better stuff for 100 bucks...
my opinion

love the sunray sound quality and comfort. Both of the plastic horse-shoe shaped retainers around my earcups also broke in a short amount of time of owning the pair. They were not mis-handled and were well taken care of. A little epoxy goes a long way though. I think they were going for light weight but forfeited build quality in the headband and retainers. Still my favorite pair of phones even with these known issues. JJ

I like to commend good customer service when I experience it...Sun Ray contacted me and suggested I send them in for repair...however, my one year warrenty was long over...I stand by my first comment, but it is good to see that Sunray cared enough to make some effort...

I guess I'm just going to have to buy a pair of them and try them out, cause if I don't it will just drive me crazy. Thanks to all that have replyed.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!

Thanks JJ, I cut a brace from some heavy leather and epoxied it to the plastic frame...today I will brace the other side of this...then work on the other earmuff-frame which broke in a more difficult place...it appears this will be a good way to redeem the headphones...thanks for the tip!

No prob Fred. I'm sure your work will hold up just as good, if not better than replacing with the exact same part that didn't hold up well to begin with. Ralph also contacted me and made EVERY attempt to correct the situation with my headphones. All i had to do was produce the warranty info. Unfortunately, I am not the best at keeping these records. This is my fault, not Ralph's or Sunrays. Again, excellent customer service from a great company that I wouldn't hesitate to buy from again. The Pro Golds are still my favorite headphones, the x-1 probe is amazing, and the x-12 is a phenomenal coil. Note to others: Keep all reciepts and warranty paperwork! JJ

Hi all,
I live in Australia and have owned the pro golds for over 2 years, great phones but I also have had issues with snapping frame.
I paid $'s to get some spares sent to Australia and now in the past 2 weeks both sides have again snapped, leaving me with no spares.

Ralph, can you arrange to get 2 full sets shipped to me here in Australia please,
These really need to be better made.

Mates have Grey Ghosts, and they have no way of snapping, but again they seem better made.

Regards

Pro golds are made by killer bee. I found out the other day. I have killer b,s and my thing that hold the cuops broke to. I did not send in warranty card but sent the headphones in anyway . He only chared me 5.00 dollars to fix them and he even put on a new coil.
