I went on a mini-road trip this weekend to several old parks and struck out, with the exception of a few wheat cents. The soil was very, very dry, almost concrete about to set. The grass had a heavy dew on it, and after swinging my MD a few times, all kinds of falsing started to occur as the dew entered between my coil and coil cover. I personally have experienced this many times before. Is there a solution other than silicone the cover to the coil? Anyone experience this? When you take the time to pull the coil cover off and dry it, it's good to go for another dozen swings or so until it occurs again. How does the water cause the falsing? Thanks Guys!!!!

My advice is to take the time and just put some silicone around your coil and cover and then you won't have to worry about moisture and dirt getting in there. HH.

and wrap about three complete wraps around the entire outside of the coil. THis keeps most dirt and excess H20 out. Your coil should be water proof and not do that though. Are you sure there is not some moisture in one of your connections?

Seems strange why would it false when they are waterproof? I could see if you are getting wet salt sand down there but dew?
