Problems with the SE?

I've been hearing some rumblings of problems with the SE. Does anyone know of anything specifically?

There have been some reported issues with the LCD acting up and with instability. It appears that some LCD units have had problems requiring replacement. As for anything else, I think in some cases it appears to have been setting-related...running too much sensitivity, etc. I can't speak for anyone else, but there are plenty of us that have had no problems at all. Any new machine is bound to have a few bugs. As long as you have a warranty that would be my only concern. Minelab is good about standing behind their machines.

Yes, and I've been having to learn to adjust to that too, being a former Ex2 hunter. It's definitely not the same animal. And I think a lot of it is in the coil. It's VERY sensitive. I've been digging some tiny stuff with it too...like little shotgun pellets and stuff that sounds off stronger than I'm used to and then when I dig it up I'm like "Wow...THAT was what that was???" It takes a little adjusting as well as recalculating your particular NEW favorite settings because it seems that if you set it up the way you would set up your Explorer II it doesn't act quite the same.
