property owner identification

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this website or a similar GIS system for your home state/county. This is a great way to find out who owns that piece of property you've been dying to search. It can also clearly identify parks, school property, etc. I'm not sure because I haven't tried this yet, but I would assume that the maps could also be over-layed into Google Earth too. Good luck and Peaceful Hunting!

I would add it too if it had New Mexico and California.

Sorry, I know not very many states are listed on this particular site but, if you check your local or county website you might find a similar GIS system for your area. Makes it a lot easier to get info instead of visiting your county clerk. I found this site listed in the links section of my local Chamber of Commerce website.

Give it a chance and you might get lucky. I found a small patch of land in my hometown that is still listed as a city park that I didn't know about and I've lived here for nearly 40 yrs. Another area I thought was state owned and off limits turned out to be locally owned. I started hunting there and pulled 6 silver coins so far.

Beale, Did you check to see if your state was listed? If not try a Google search for "Geographic Information system" and your state.

Just did that and found a very good NC site! Thanks, Beale.
