Prospecting trip...

I had the opportunity to go gold prospecting for the first time a week ago and have just now gotten time to take a picture to show everyone. I went with some great folks in VA. The gold there is very fine gold, some call it flour gold. I had never panned before and they had to show me how. We did not stay to long. Here is a picture of the gold. Please note thru the glass vial it looks like a lot more than it is and a lot bigger than what it really is. However, it was my first time and first gold. Tinpan that was teaching me made a statment that really struck home. When you see that gold your are the first person ever to see it. Isn't that a great thought.

Goldvein Viginia is the place where I found the gold.. I thought using the map was a great feature of the picture.. Then getting the angle that magnefied the gold was the frosting. Got to make the composition look it's best. I has been years since I did any photography work. At one time I had photo's in 15 magazines at once. Now just for the family. Thanks for the comments Steve...HHing

Looks like a nice one. However, in VA they are outlawed at the present time.. They are trying to get them back. But I think the tree huggers want you to go to school at to have a certification for there use. Do you get the chance to prospect much? I have seen in the past where you have sold nuggets on ebay. Got any pointers email me...Happy Hunting

That was my 4 inch dredge. Had a five and a smaller one. Love to go but have not been in a few years a sold everything for now . I'am going to feed dogs now and go to bed. I'am going to email you tomorrow with some stuff. And yes you can find nuggets. But it takes time and work plus luck from God
