Protect that MI-6 (pics)

New member
When I got the MI-6 I wanted to find a way to protect my investment. After much searching, I found a gentleman who made tip covers for pinpointers. Since the MI-6 was so new nothing existed for it yet. It was important to me that whatever was used maintained the lines of the pointer and also offered the best protection when sticking it in the dirt. I was fortunate to be able to test these out and am happy to report that the fit is absolutely perfect!

$8 and free shipping which is a small amount to protect a $199 investment!

Fantastic idea thanks for sharing.

Chair leg protectors basically do the same thing but far cheaper,i use them on my SunRay DX-1 inline probe,of course i could be wrong but i doubt that they are specially made just for the Deus probe,i bought mine from Ebay for peanuts and they work a treat.

Performix PLASTI-DIP Plastic Rubber Grip Coating also works great. Dip the tip in about six times to give it a nice thick coating.

I'm not the seller, I just provided the measurements and he sent a set for me to test out. It's a nice tight fit, so it's not going to fall off or allow dirt underneath. You can't just pop it on, you have to get it on part way then massage each side with your thumb pushing it toward the rear to achieve the molded look you see in the pics. Removal is not hard if you need to take it off. Just thought I would pass it along.

What is the diameter of this cap?

Not sure, maybe an inch(ish)? Just keep in mind different materials may stretch and fit/wear differently. What I like about these is they are nice and thick (60 mils according to the info). I don't see these wearing out at all. $8 for three of them. It will cost you at least that much just to buy the materials and do a home remedy that wont last as long or look as good.
