Put Your Thinking Caps On People - Help!

Okay! Now that I have your attention, here's the rub...

I don't know about all of you but I've just about had it with cords! Headphone cords that is. Every time I bend down to cut a plug, my headphone cord gets caught in something. If it's not me, it's on or around other equipment and I'm thinking there's got to be a better way. So here's my question for you all...

Is there any way to come up with cordless headphones for our detectors??? Somewhere along the line I watched a video where the guy used a electronic guitar pick-up that plugged into his detector. He then mated the pick-up to cordless headphones somehow. Any ideas??? We've got a nitch here people and I've got an itch!!! Put your thinking caps on and come up with a solution. Okay??? I mean my gosh the government sent people to the moon with less computing power than I have in my laptop computer!!! There's got to be a way to do this!!! There's got to be hundreds ...........maybe thousands of detectorist who'd buy it someone builds it???

Any help you all can render would be very much appreciated...

They do make cordless headphones for detectors, somewhere on the forum I read about them. Check out some of the previous posts On the safari/quattro forum. I hope this helps!! Ron

Hello again Senior Seeker, the cordless headphones are called freedom phones. Here is the website, if you want to check them out. www.detecnicks.co.uk/recentproducts.htm I also like the idea of no more tangles. Ron :minelab::whites::bounty:

I sure could have used some cordless ones when I was doing all that detecting, as everytime I bent over with the headphones, I usually had them sliding off my head and sometimes took my glasses with them! I really get wet from persperation! Also they would catch on something, too! Those cordless headphones sound great, but I don't think I will be :detecting: now or not very much anyway! God Bless! And Good Luck with the cordless ones! Betty

They need to make white headphones, because the darker headphones absorb too much heat. I have the same sweaty problem with my phones. God Bless You !! Ron

Well Ron ...here's the scoop! Cordless headphone, it turns out, are made but not in America! Everything on the Internet is European. Nothing here on our side of the pond apparently.
So what did I do? I sat down and wrote a long letter to Mr. Charles Garrett asking him to do something about it. After all ... who better to produce something like cordless headphone for metal detectors than Mr. Garrett? He's been in business since the 60's and surely he can accomplish this? Anyway ... in this economy ... this would be the perfect business for someone.

WHO KNOWS? MAYBE ONE OF OUR DETECTORIST FRIENDS HERE ON THE FORUM WILL BUILD THEM? THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT BUSINESS! WOULD AN AMERICAN PLEASE STEP UP TO THE PLATE!

they had rooms of computers with the equivalent of our old XT (DOS) computers.

I wonder when someone will think.....hmmmm I am probably giving away a million dollar idea here...oh well never wanted to be RICH in a worldly sense anyway....but if you can Bluetooth an earphone/microphone to a cell phone then the future should hold a spot for Bluetoothing your device to the metal detector.

OK rmember when you see it in reality...you heard it here and from me first...I want a small percentage of the sales.

up to the shop. What I do is swing the detector with the left hand and put the phone cord behind my back and the ear piece with the cord goes on my right ear. I belt mount the control box though.

detector pro first to come out with the control box in the headphones very light:yikes:the det.is a 2.4 khz frequency machine, kinda works like the 1266x,set it and go,no settings of g.b. and other knobs.

Yeah, I have long thought how nice cordless would be. I am just no sure about the whole RF problem around something like an electro-magnet (the detector).

If Garret does build something I hope it crosses brands......
