qd 2 beach detecting

Hey j,
Have just had my QD2 for a couple of months now, and am just beginning to understand it.I would suggest that you not submerge your search coil in salt water, even though they say it's waterproof. I did mine one time and it went wild and would'nt work until I repeatly washed it with fresh water. I can hunt the wet and dry sand but I never put the coil under salt water. Also when I hunt the wet sand I press the notch button then set the right hand Disc/Notch knob to just above the disc mark, then set the sensitivity knob to the 9 or 10 oclock position. This works good for me, hope it does for you.
Dave
