I'm thinking of a Quattro for spring. What sweep speed is best for this unit? Can it be rushed a bit ...or is it slow sweep? Thank You.

It requires a pretty slow sweep speed. Of course, having a threshold, you can pick up the speed a bit and go back to investigate a break. But to get a good lock and ID you need to slow down.
There is a setting for low trash/high trash that you can use in high trash and this speeds up the recovery speed quite a bit but will also lose some depth and the default of low trash is what you want if in fact you are in a low trash setting.

I agree with Mike,
A fairly slow sweep is required for best results.
But i tend to swing fast and low and only slow down when i hear the high/medium pitch tones which of course indicate targets to be dug.
Once slow swept i check the number and decide wether to dig or not after lock on.
When i switch to pinpoint i get a much better idea of object size.
This is my final pointer as to dig or not.
IMHO This is one great deepseeking machine.

If your considering the Quattro, I highly recommend getting yourself a copy of Andy Sabisch's new book: Mastering the Minelab Quattro. 105 pages of information and pics. It would answer a lot of questions and give you a jump start on mastering the Quattro. We have autographed copies available.
