HI everyone, i'm going to get bigger coil for beach hunting. can anyone tell me what coil they prefer? thanks and HH johnny

Right now,my hunting spots are dry,no rain for days. The 8" coil was not hitting verry well, being when you dig your plug, the dirt in the hole is just sand.so i tried somthin today and put my stock coil back on and gone huntn. For me,the machine was much more stable and got better target separations than my 8" in the verry dry conditions i was huntin in.Go figure. We need rain here so bad

Hi Johnny,

I have both the WOT 15" and Sunray 12.5" coils. They both work great on the beach. I tend to use the Sunray more because it's lighter than the WOT and it seems to be more sensitive than the WOT. I've found two gold chains this year at the beach. The two chains on top were both found with my Explorer 2 with the Sunray coil. Both gave a very weak but noticeable sound. My detecting buddy had the WOT on his Explorer and he had to scrub the coil on top of the chain before he got a response and the response wasn't a very good one. We both hunt with zero discrimination. I was able to get weak mixed tones at about 2 or 3 inches with the Sunray. I don't remember which chain he checked with the WOT.
