Quattro for $400.00

I have and oppertunity to buy a Quattro for $400.00
and it is only 2 years old complete in the box with all accessories should I do it or pass it up

If it is in good shape, it's a good deal

My feelings are right along with Andy. I paid about $845. or so three or four years ago, and to me, it's working fine and still a great detector. My feelings on this whole Safari vs Quatro thing is: Yea, I'll bet the Safari is a great detector and sounds like they got the response time beefed up and some things, but the Quatro is still a very fine machine, seems very sturdy, works great in mineralized ground, and you can knotch out anything you want, and it goes deep, deep, deep. I still love it! Marc Trainor.

I purchased my Quattro used and for around the same price, way before the Safari. I have no need to upgrade for the slightly faster response recovery rate. After reading Andy's book and putting it to good use, I am happy with the performance. The one thing that I have noticed between all the settings in a trash area such as a old cellar hole is that I will get a tone ID change way before the display changes, therefore I am more dependant on sound than display. This was a lunch time hunt that I had about a half hour. I did not dig much crap and the Quattro worked well in this old trash infested cellar hole. I was using All Metal, High Trash with a sensativity of 7. The same type sleigh bells were found 100 feet apart of each other.
