Quattro mp with pro coil

Hello I have had my quattro for about 18 months I love the machine I have found many coins and farm field relics however most of the fields and parks I hunt are truly iron infested and there are many areas I get a constant threshold null I have read and tried some of the suggested settings from the mastering the Quattro book. But I find when I try the high trash setting with any sense setting including auto I get a machine that either nulls or just becomes crazy many tones and jumping I'd numbers I have tried many times to dig signals that read 38 39 but find nothing is there a way to make the machine more stable or to make it better in iron I have hunted next to a friend that uses a machine made in Oregon and he can find coins where I just get a threshold null and in high trash can't determine a good target he regularly finds large coins colonial coppers that I can't. Unless the area is fairly clear of iron. On the other hand I have found deep deep deep silver and copper he can't even hear just need help in iron thank you ct ps I'm using the prot coil by minelab I traded the stock coil for it

Please if there are any suggestions for better iron performance let me know just got permission for a field that had activity from 1715 _2012 it was a tavern Site and then in 1842_2012. A farm again lots of null over large sections

Try all metal mode, notch out 40, high trash, sens on auto until you get the feeling of the field. Remember, the Quattro is a SLOW RUNNING machine, unlike the Oregon machine your buddy uses. The more discrimination you use, the more nulling you get. I know, you will think that the machine is running crazy in all metal, but just listen for the high tones coming out of the low tone and dig!! Remember SLOW DOWN. If you need to hunt faster, ya better think of a faster machine, like a Xterra 70 or 705. This is the settings I use on my Safari and have had luck with it....MO

c t sounds like that you are picking up iron with the edge of your coil and most likely there is a piece of iron in the side of your hole. If you pass the edge of the coil over rusted iron you will get the those high jumping numbers. I would suggest going with a 6 inch coil for the heavey iron sites, I have found many coins mixed in with iron junk with it. I have not notice any lost depth and dug up coins from 9 inches +. As for the nulls use less disc and go slow.

Thanks for the tips heading out tomorrow will try them out if the rain stops that is. Ps did some air testing found that high trash in auto sense gave me constant quarter readings of 37, normally quarters give me 38. And a large silver Morgan dollar that usually gives 39 is 37 36. And yes I'm air testing outside under a car port cause of death the fain is the ideal change normal in high trash. Again thanks
