Quattro

I had a quattro and when it would pick up a target, it would give the same signal on other targets until the threshold reset. If it picked up a nail then a coin, the coin would read like a nail if the threshold hadn't reset. I was wondering if this was ever fixed and if the new detector has this problem?

What you are describing is the issue that Minelab's engineers worked to address; i.e., the slow recovery time. In high trash, you had to slow the sweep speed down considerably in order to ensure the detector actually saw separate targets and then be able to analyze them properly. The way users found to address this - as they did on Explorers which nulled when passing over rejected targets - was to slow way down and try to sweep the area from different angles to separate the targets.

The Safari has two changes which are intended to address this is issue . . . . . the first is the faster processor and the second is the software programing that allows the Safari to reset quicker and be ready to see and analyze the next target without having to slow down as much. There is still the need to slow down your sweep speed on high trash . . . . . less so than on the Quattro but even the Explorer requires you to slow down.

As to your question on the sound remaining at the last DETECTED target pitch, you will see that has been reduced to a great degree but as with the Explorer, sweeping too fast in high trash or even when passing over 2 targets in close proximity will produce the same result.

Let me know if this answered your question
