Queen Victoria Token for India

New member
It has taken the assistance of experts to learn what I found a month ago in a Fair Grounds/former 19th century homesite. I was shocked that it was more than 100 years old because of its good condition. I think it is either bronze or some mixture of brass and copper, as it is as found, except for washing and peroxide bath. I found it with the GTI 2500 in an area littered with clad coins and modern trash. This is quite a surprise.

Nice find..Looks minty..

those are strangely well preserved...... looks like bronze..... copper and/ or brass would have corroded some.......... are they kind of heavy............ do you have some comparison for another pic .. like putting a quarter or something next to it

The token is about 1 mm larger in diameter than the quarter (barely larger), and is slightly thinner than the quarter. The clad quarter weighs about the same as the token. Bronze is what it looks like to me, and it is darker to the eye than the photos which shine due to the flash of the camera. Thanks for asking. Reggie
