question about an old post in explorer classroom!

Ok so last night I was reading some old post from a guy called richard from canada, anyone know if he is still around? It was called help for beginners
.it is at the last page of the explorer classroom forum, it calls for one to set up a coin screen, only upper right hand corner open, max gain 32 sens auto, and dig all signals, to get used to hearing what deep coins sound like,,he said to try and go to a so called hunted out park that has produced old coins and give it a try,, so not to sure ,I went out and tried it today, a place i have hunted many times with no silver since it has been hunted to death, by some old school mdr's and did manage to find a 46 rosie blew my mind , I would like to experiment some more with this concept but on the old post the image of the coin screen was not there anymore, Does anyone have a similar coin screen setup or know if this Richard from Canada is still around? I have no idea what the original screen looked like, and would like a more in depth explanation of the concept. He said and onother guy who tried it that they were diging lots of old silvers in hunted out spots and lots of them 10 to 14 inches deep.

Thanks Travis

The old post is on page 105 of the exp. classroom forum

We often get distracted in busy parks by all the trash signals with our normal set up so patterns can work especially if you are new and not used to all the tones. If you have read Andy's book on the explorer he used a pattern for the beach that was designed to reduce digging time for just those targets he was looking for. CHERRY PICKING is a lot more quiet thats for sure. Auto sensitivity 32 has been recommended by some of the Euro hunters. It aledgedly gives the machine full flexibility. Id also have to think if it ever kicks in at 32 you are going to be hitting a lot of DEEP targets not all good reducing your depth. You might catch something coming off null worth digging.... but id be surprised to see coins dug at 14 inches in a park with EMI, mineralized and rust ridden soil. Experiment... let us know how it works on the old coins. Ive used a pattern in really trashy medians after trying everything elce and managed a few coins i missed and they were old silver.

do you have to be in quickstart to be in coins.i've been trying to program in just coins for a small park with a lot of wine caps but couldn't remember how to do it. i would black the screen, click on the check mark and wave a coin over the coil but the screen just stayed balck so i guess i was in the wrong mode. thanks for the link.
