Question about placing of power switch

A

All the PI designs seem to put all the electronics away from the coil. Since the sensing is done after the power switch has gone 'quiet' is there any advantage or disadvantage by putting the power switch and coil reset components near the coil (outside of the loop) thereby keeping the signal to the control box all low voltages and easier to shield. I would concede that the proximity of the components to coil would have an effect but it would be a constant effect.
Thanks
