Question about Sensitivity usually pops up ..

Pete in MI

New member
and I have read where people max their sensitivity as far as they can to get good depth. Where others were pushing 22 and higher in manual, my detector (Exp II) wasn't stable when pushed over 14...less than the factory preset. I could not understand why such a gap. Between 11 and 14 was the highest level for my X-1 probe to work right too. Anything higher and the probe went nuts.

I came across this video and the more I listen to it the more sense I get from it.

Not all places where others hunt is the same as the places I am hunting...so there will be a difference in sensitivity settings. What is great is not trying to force the machine to do what others are doing and then getting sporadic operation at best but instead letting the detector do the determination as is explained in the video.

Here is the link (or video - whichever shows up) from MLOTV (Minelab Owners TV):

Happy Detecting and good luck
